From Nicole Schultz-Kass:

She's so much more...

We've been home little more than a month, Megan and I. We've walked our neighborhood, gone to the doctor, been to the hospital, been grocery shopping, "stuff" shopping, and dress shopping for a fancy schmancy gala we will be helping with. We've been to the pumpkin patch and on walking trails and along the beautiful Saint Croix River. We've been in an airplane, on a hay rack ride, and on trains, buses, and in cars. We've packed a lot into a little bit of time so far.

When I tell people about her and our young partnership, I tell them that we don't walk together, we FLY. Every time we go out I am awestruck by our pace together and by Megan's precision and near perfection. She is exceptional. We are a fast flying pair and we're becoming stronger and more attuned to one another every day.

Thank you--everyday I think "Thank You". When I safely cross at an intersection, or step up a curb without tripping, or find the stairs, or walk with grace, poise, and confidence with Megan by my side, I think, "Thank You".

She is so much more than a dog...
She is so much more than a friend...
She is so much more than a mobility tool...
She is SO much more than a gift...

This dog, she is beautiful, impeccably trained, hard-working, happy to snuggle, loving, protective, curious, and an incredible gift of the most precious sort imaginable. She gives me freedom, independence, confidence, assurance, and safety and she is so much more... She is part of me, part of my family, and part of our community.

Thank You GDB for both of these gifts, my retired guide, Picassa, and my new active guide, Megan. They are both so much more.... Than I could have ever asked for. ❤

Hi there Boulder Puppy Raiserrs!!

I'm so excited to share this with you through Heidi!  I've posted it on Facebook if you use that venue also.  I am the blind handler who was matched with one of your club's puppies in training, Megan, raised by Heidi. ️

I am also one of the officers of a GDB alumni group called Mommies with Guides. While we are a GDB alumni group we are allowed to have members (moms and dads) from all different guide dog schools and all over the world!  It's truly a wonderful group and we work hard to empower other blind parents and to educate and raise awareness within the general public regarding active, independent, blind parents and our guide dogs.

Every Thursday, we post about a different puppy in training!!  I'm writing to invite you to submit your puppies in training to our Puppy Power Thursday posts!  All you need to do is "like" Mommies with Guides on Facebook and then send us a message with some information about your puppy, letting us know your puppy club, and attaching some pictures of your sweet puppy in training!!  We'll take it from there and will feature your puppy in training on an upcoming Puppy Power Thursday!

We love sharing with the world about these little life changers!  We also LOVE being able to honor and show appreciation and gratitude to all of you--our incredible, dedicated, loving puppy raisers!!

Thank you all for everything you do!
All my best,
Nicole
